Grant Funding Requests


The Trust will consider applications for grant funding from the Pillars, Clubs, Organisations and Individuals provided the requests meet the following criteria;

  • Full or part time coaches for young player development, disability cricket and the women’s and girl’s cricket;
  • The cost of hiring specialist facilities (sports halls and pitches etc) for coaching activities and matches played by “age group” cricketers, disability team cricketers, the women’s and girls’ team cricketers etc);
  • Specialist equipment (bowling machines, strength and conditioning aids etc) for the above;
  • The cost of providing opportunities for emerging young cricketers to develop their technical cricketing skills;
  • Full or part time team managers for age group cricket teams, disability teams, women’s and girls’ teams;
  • Specialist equipment for disability cricket (table cricket equipment etc);
  • Travel expenses for overseas tours for youth cricket;
  • The cost of setting up, administering and running new competitions (for example “Kwik Cricket”) designed to promote greater participation in the sport in Cornwall;
  • Travel expenses for long distance trips for Women’s/Girls' and “Over 50s” teams;
  • Cost of repairs/maintenance of Clubhouses and other buildings at community cricket Clubs within the Cornwall Cricket League pyramid;
  • Cost of replacement equipment (ground covers, pitch rollers, sightscreens, scoreboxes etc) at community cricket Clubs within the Cornwall Cricket League pyramid;
  • Funding to support community activities undertaken by Clubs;
  • Funding to support cricket linked initiatives within small communities;
  • Cricket equipment and kit (bats, balls, stumps, batting pads, gloves etc) for any of the players who participate within the matches and competitions which fall under the Pillar system;
  • Cost of helping community cricket Clubs to improve their practice facilities and the general standard of their playing surfaces;

Exceptionally, the Trust may also consider grant funding requests for other activities not included in the list above provided that they are in line with the Trust's charitable objective. Finally, the Trust may also consider grant funding requests which come directly from any of the 69 individual Clubs who are members of the Cornwall Cricket League (and from any Club or Team which is not, at the time of application, a member of the Cornwall Cricket League).
